Description

A stunningly detailed watercolour entitled “Ships On The River” by Belgian artist Ronny Moortgat. The main ship is a steamer with “USARAMO” on its prow and its being guided along the river by a small tugboat. The river is busy with many other steam ships, and sailboats, with a town of some size away in the background. The painting is mounted, framed and glazed. The frame measures 69 x 36 cm, with the painting itself measuring 50 x 17 cm.

Ronny Moortgat RSMA, BSMA. Belgian b 1951. Ronny was born in Niel in Belgium, grew up on the banks of the River Schelde and spent much if his childhood sailing the inland waterways of Holland. He trained as a technical draughtsman before turning his skills to painting full time. He is a world renowned marine artist, having been elected to both The Belgian and The Royal Societies of Marine Artists.
