A beautiful and moving watercolour of an old Japanese peasant lady in traditional workers clothing carrying a twin handled wicker basket on her back. The quality of the artwork is fantastic with Nakayama’s characteristic forlorn look on her face. The painting is signed “T Nakayama” to the bottom right corner. The painting is in a dark hardwood frame.
